THE SLEEPING CAR

This Wegmanns carriage was built in the 1950s as a 4-berth sleeping car. By the 1970s, it was re-purposed as a community health car. Fast forward to the late 1990s - the carriage was retired and ended up at e-Gate in Melbourne, stored under the old "ARC Brand Geelong Cement" shed there. Much was destroyed by a fire in late 2017 and the carriage was removed for scrap in May 2018. These photos all come from a single session in June 2017, prior to the carriage's arson attack.
