G.O.D. DRAIN

The Great Oversized Drain earns its name. Vast concrete chambers stretch into darkness, swallowing light, sound, and scale alike. Built to move enormous volumes of stormwater beneath Melbourne, the tunnel feels less like infrastructure and more like an underground monument to brute-force engineering.

Water echoes through the cavernous space while stained walls and endless lines of concrete disappear into shadow. Standing inside it, human proportions begin to feel strangely irrelevant - dwarfed by a drain system built on a scale few people ever see.
