A once beautiful 1920s mansion left to waste (and ultimately demolished... by neglect). Sold for $40 million AUD and to all intents and purposes, abandoned. Fire destroyed the rear of the property in 2017, and a leaky roof allowed cascades of water in to irreparably damage the interior. Regrettably, later vandalism left the grand stair without its bannisters, and graffiti soon covered the walls of the upper floor.

The final two images are from the demolished $20 million villa next door. Without a heritage overlay to protect it, the grand art nouveau 1913 property was bulldozed and left for nature to take over. To this day, it remains an overgrown vacant lot...
